AI is not a neat replacement for a job.
It is a redesign of tasks, decisions and accountability.
If leaders approve AI at the level of a whole role, department or vague efficiency target, they can miss the real question.
Which parts of the work should AI own, which parts should it support and which parts still require a human being to remain accountable?
A clearer model is:
Automate work that is repetitive and checkable.
Assist work that is cognitively demanding.
Augment skilled judgement.
Keep work involving trust, ethics, relationships, exceptions and accountability human.
This is not about resisting AI. It is about designing the work properly before changing roles, workflows or expectations around a tool.
