UAE is ahead of everyone else

The thing I'm thinking about at the moment is that the UAE in Dubai has just gone all in on AI. We're talking about running 20% of the country using AI in two years, and that is a very interesting area. The idea that you've got a state that integrates AI so deeply into it, and the fact that it's the UAE, which is a swing state, which is between China and the West. Everyone likes them. They've got a lot of oil, they're looking at hosting the oil world, and they are building data centres. They're building a lot of total capacity, and they are not stupid. These guys are at the front of it now.
Interestingly, just this morning I noticed that they are teaming up with South Korea. That should be something that is giving us pause here and thinking about. We've got a country that is rich, that is smart, with a very smart population because it's rich, and is now linking up with South Korea in order to be the epicentre of AI in two years. They're sitting on a $1.2 trillion wealth fund, so there's geopolitics. I'm going to, and I will, go to another blog post, but that should be a wake-up call to any sleepy countries kind of thinking AI is just another thing.
